In 1997, Bimota introduced the DB2 EF as a final edition of the DB2, despite production having ended two years earlier for the standard DB2 and one year earlier for the DB2 SR. The Edizione Finale was essentially identical to the original DB2, except for the paint scheme, and remained a carbureted model.

Production of the EF was limited to 100 units, all featuring a red frame and a dark gray and silver paint scheme. Each motorcycle was delivered with a numbered plaque affixed to the fuel cap, displaying a serial number from 1 to 100. Of the 100 DB2 EF models built, 75 were produced with a full fairing, while 25 featured a half-fairing.

With a total of 771 units produced over eight years, the DB2 became one of Bimota’s most successful models. The units are split to the following models:

  • 408 DB2
  • 106 DB2 400J
  • 157 DB2 SR
  • 100 DB2 EF

Pictured is the DB2 EF with serial number 100—the final unit of the 100 models produced in this last series.
