Early December means Intermot – off to Cologne! This year, Bimota is once again represented with two models: the Tesi H2 Tera, first unveiled in Milan in 2023 and already on display in Cologne last year, and the KB 998 Rimini, which made its debut in Milan last year as well.

Compared to the previous year, the presentation of the Bimota models was noticeably simpler. Although Bimota showcased only two models in 2024—the KB4 and the Tera—their appearance had been far more representative and self-contained. The display was still part of the Kawasaki area, but the bikes were presented on elaborate podiums with an overhead structure designed in true Bimota style, clearly highlighting them as a distinct brand.

This year, all they had was a small two-square-meter patch of flooring beneath the bikes. Apart from that, Bimota was integrated into the Kawasaki stand, which was divided into sections such as motocross, adventure tourer, new models, retro sport, and so on. With this setup, it was easy to mistake Bimota for a special Kawasaki edition. I would prefer a more independent and visible presence to strengthen the brand’s recognition.

Regardless of how the models are presented, they stand out in any environment. For me, it was the first time seeing the KB998 Rimini—the homologation basis for the superbike world championship race machine.
The flawlessly laminated carbon fiber, the numerous CNC-milled aluminum parts – whether side stand, triple clamp, swingarm, or frame – everything is crafted to perfection. It’s good to know that some things never change!

So far, the Rimini has only been homologated for the USA, Canada, Australia, the Middle East, China, and the Philippines. You can buy it in Europe, but it cannot be registered for road use. Fortunately, the Euro 5+ homologation for 2026 was confirmed at the show.

The Tera, featuring the latest evolution of its hub-center steering, attracted a great deal of attention from visitors. Not only the unique front-wheel steering system, but also the design and the comfortable seating position were frequent topics of conversation.
