Intermot traditionally takes place at the beginning of December in Cologne. On the very first day of the fair, I take the opportunity to have a close look at the KB4, which was already presented at EICMA 2021 in Milan, and the Tesi H2 Tera, which was likewise unveiled in Milan in 2023. Although free motorcycle parking is once again available for visitors, I prefer to make the 250-kilometre journey on four wheels due to the wintry weather.

The trade fair is already very well attended on the first day, and Ducati, with its large booth in the middle of Hall 8, is the biggest crowd-puller. Bimota’s considerably smaller stand is located behind the Kawasaki area and thus more toward the edge of the hall.
However, the presentation and staging of the two models on display is, as can be seen in the two photos below, very appealing. And the interest from visitors is so great that it takes quite some time before I can take photos in which no onlookers are blocking the bikes.

Seeing the two current Bimotas live for the first time is a special experience for me as a passionate fan of the brand. Of course, all angles and details can be seen in the many press photos Bimota has released, but it is quite different when you can take in all the exquisite details with your own eyes.
The KB4 immediately stands out thanks to its extraordinary side-mounted air ducts integrated into the fairing and its retro design elements. And whether you like this look or not, there can be no debate when you consider the exquisite craftsmanship of the KB4. The abundance of precisely milled aluminium components, the perfectly finished carbon fibre, the stylishly quilted seat upholstery, and much more are well worth a closer look. The Tera – its full model name being Tesi H2 Tera – absolutely thrilled me. It is not, as the name might suggest, an adventure tourer featuring Tesi H2 technology. While the Tera does use the same 200-hp supercharged engine from the Kawasaki Ninja H2, it is otherwise a largely newly developed motorcycle. Particularly noteworthy is the further evolution of the hub-center steering. After almost 40 years of Tesi development, Bimota has had a brilliant idea and now steers the hub using components that are already present – the brake calipers!
