DB3 / DB4 tool for the rear spark plug

Let us quickly change the spark plugs … . With the horizontal cylinder it’s no problem, but with the vertical cylinder it only works with the appropriate special tool. If you put the 18 mm socket on the spark plug, you can’t attach a ratchet, a universal joint, or even an extension, because the frame doesn’t leave enough space. However, you can loosen the plug with a DIY adapter and a flat ring spanner.

The adapter can be quickly made from an M8 x 30 bolt. File the 13 mm hex head into a 3/8″ square so you can insert it into the square drive of the socket. Screw two M8 nuts onto the thread and lock them against each other. Using a flat ring spanner, which you place on the inside of the frame, you can then loosen the plug.
