In 1993, Bimota introduced another model in the YB8 series, the YB8 Evoluzione, and sold 169 units, despite the fact that the technical changes compared to the standard YB8 were limited to a stronger front fork. Instead of a 42 mm Marzzocchi, the YB8 E was equipped with a Paioli fork featuring 46 mm stanchions.
The modifications introduced in the final model year of the standard YB8 were carried over unchanged to the YB8 E. These included the high-quality Brembo Gold brake system, black pinted Oscam wheels instead of white, the removal of the headlight covers, and bodywork adjustments. The monocoque no longer extended down to the footpegs but instead followed a straight line along the frame. The fairing received additional air intakes at the front and sides, with the side intakes covered by fine mesh wire grilles.
The only truly new visual elements of the Evoluzione were the carbon fiber front and rear fenders and the subtle „Evoluzione“ decals on the tail section. Bimota retained the existing color scheme without changes. However, 24 of the 169 units were delivered with an entirely new „Tricolore“ paint scheme, which made the bike, though technically identical, appear more distinctive and modern.
